Telugu Movies
There was a time when we had good movies and bad ones. This is
gradually disappearing. The quality of films is steadily going
downhill and the frustrating part is you can't choose anymore.
Each year, hundreds of films are made that range from the
dissappointing to the disastrous. Occasionally they do come up
with something interesting but this is getting rarer by the day.
The majority of them are shockingly crude and appeal to one's
basest instincts.
What makes these movies so bad?
To begin with, the weak story line is based on a worn out, hackeneyed
theme. The unvarying predictability of each scene is apalling.
The heroes are all so egotistical and insecure that they have to
dominate every scene and do impossible things to feel important.
And what's worse, they help glamourize violence thus setting
dangerous role models to young impressionable minds.
The heroines suffer from a severe lack of self respect. They seldom
rise above the role of the empty headed doll. They are perfectly
content to get into their skimpy little costumes and run around
trees looking blissfully ignorant.
The music grates on the nerves. You can't listen to a Telugu song
without being embarrassed by the ribald lyrics.
The comedy, to say the least is gross. The less said about it the better.
The emotions are unrealistic and far fetched. The finest of feelings
and the most subtle of emotions are replaced by loud melodramatic
streches of dialogue dripping with cliches.
We may never again see films with stories that touch our hearts, ideas
that make us sit up and take notice, themes that are thought provoking
and characters that are never forgotten. But can't we have some plain
simple entertainment? Forget about artistic ventures and cinematic
excellence, let's at least have some good clean fun. Is that too much
to ask for?
